PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
My communications career spans more than 15 years.
Currently, I am working as a freelance editor and consultant. My recent projects include editing and proofreading small business websites and online articles, as well as content for university websites and print materials.

Previously, I was the communications director at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, one of the top law schools in the country. In less than two years, I transformed a struggling office into a strategic department.
As director, I overhauled the law school's internal and external communications materials, redesigned the website, and increased the school’s media presence. I created a brand identity to promote the law school’s accomplishments both nationally and abroad. Furthermore, I spearheaded producing an award-winning alumni magazine with intellectually stimulating editorial content that explored current events in an engaging layout.
Before moving to the Bay Area, I was the publications director for the University of San Diego School of Law. I began with three boxes of assorted paper files, a few stock photos and an obsolete PC. I changed this fledgling department into a smoothly run operation.
I worked closely with the University of San Diego law school community to redesign and produce the school’s various marketing materials and website. After giving the alumni magazine a major facelift, I received the San Diego County Bar Association’s top award for communicating legal issues to the public for two years in a row.

I earned a bachelor's degree cum laude from Connecticut College with a major in English literature and a minor in art.
Then I earned a master's degree in psychology from Boston University with a 4.0 GPA while working at the university full-time.
